Getting ready for Laconia bike week.

My dad grew up in Laconia, New Hampshire. In fact Brodheads moved there in 1800 and brought Methodism with them. The Methodist circle runs through Weirs beach where Laconia bike week is held.

While I wont make “Ride with Rick” on June 6th in Iowa, he is welcome to join me during laconia bike week.   While I may not be tough like Rick’s psycho jarhead and Seal friends, I have better taste in motorcycles and know where the cold beer is.  My cousins have Harleys and copious friends in Laconia.  I ride an American made Victory because they never break down and take 30 minutes to change a belt. Then again, unlike Ricks tough guy friends, I can at least work on my own motorcycle.   Take it or leave it. Ya got that sweet lips?

Oh and as legacy Air Force , I travel in a luxury sprinter van with solar generator, galley kitchen, and porta potty. I do not prefer a pup tent and poop trench. I will also be bring tools since I actually know how to use them.

How to truly honor “Memorial day!”

Every year politicians put on a show. Every year they tell everyone how they support our veterans and honor the fallen. They tell us that they will be good custodians of our soldiers. They tell us that our dead fought for our freedoms, liberty and security as a nation.  Of course then they go off and commit the lives of our soldiers to wars of choice that have nothing to do with our freedom, liberty or security as a nation.

Politicians pay lip service to Memorial day. Politicians pay lip service to veterans.

Today, Washington DC is more interested in special interest donor money than the lives of our troops. In fact,  special interest uses our troops as  a vehicle to make money. For politicians, it is not really about the troops. It is about presenting an image that they truly care about the lives of our soldiers just to get elected. Once elected, they commit our sons and daughters to wars of choice and pad the wallets of special interest donors.  Of course after we have lost sons and daughters to special interest profit wars, they thank the families for their service!

We truly honor our veterans on Memorial day when we question the real motives of those in power. We truly honor our fallen when we elect leaders that truly understand how destructive and meaningless wars of choice really are. We honor the fallen when we stand with the soldiers of today. We cannot allow neocon ass kissers to squander the lives of our troops just so somebody else can make a buck.

Rand Paul re-establishing the traditional standard of American liberty.

As second in command of the Nichols expedition in 1664, Captain Daniel Brodhead disembarked British Man-O-Wars and led the troops that took New Amsterdam. We would call it New York and Establish English Speaking rule.

In 1776, Brodheads would rise against British tyranny and be with George Washington’s last 2500 at Valley Forge. Three Brodhead brothers and a few sons would fight for our liberty and freedom.

The “Declaration of Independence” and the “Bill of Rights” are written with the blood of Brodheads.

My German grand father was a senator in the Wiemar Republic. He would be on Hitlers hit list in 1933 when Hitler became chancellor of Germany. He would spend time at Dachau before Neville Chamberlains appeasement event.  Of course, Hitler would then plunge Germany into “total war.”

Today, perpetual war mongering neocon ass kissers evoke the Neville Chamberlain card at the drop of a hat.

Today, Washington DC establishment Neocon ass kissing Republicans want to plunge America into decades and decades of perpetual war. They will seek to pad the stock values of special interest with the blood of our soldiers.

Americans do not want to allow the American federal government to regress into a Joseph Goebbels style police state. We can already see how both the Bush and Obama administrations have supported wholesale surveillance of the American people which is counter to our “Bill of Rights!” We can already see the federal government regressing to total war abroad while doing nothing here at home.. While our soldiers were fighting and dying for the rights of religious extremists 10,000 miles away, the Bush dynasty was actively back stabbing our soldiers 4th amendment rights here at home. In addition, both Obama and Clinton turned their backs on the “Bill of Rights!”

The federal government must be afraid of “We the people!”

It seems while other Republican candidates have adapted platforms that undermine the Constitution  and violate the content of “Washington’s farewell address”, Rand Paul is fighting for our rights. He is re-establishing our traditional standards of freedom under the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

As it is, Americans cannot trust, Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, Scott Walker, Rick Perry, or any of the Neocon ass kissing establishment candidates. We cannot trust them to stand for our Bill of Rights or re-establish a sound foreign relations policy. In fact, many are eager to commit the lives of our children to perpetual war just for political donations.

The baby boomer that rioted in the streets of Vietnam have yet to rise against the wholesale abuse of our military. They stand idly by as our federal government deploys troops a dozen times in 10 years. Under Bush and Obama, the VA budget has expanded from $50 billion to $178 billion with a VA claim back log of 1 million . The cost of Iraq will end up eclipsing $6 trillion over the next 50 years. But still, many Republican candidates are evoking the Neville Chamberlain card on ISIS in Iraq, and want to spend another trillion and the blood of patriots for extremists 10,000 miles away. They want to commit the lives of our children to a Sunni /Shiite civil war. A war Republicans created in the first place by deposing Saddam Hussein.

It is time for a renewed vision for America here at home. It is time to rest the soldiers. It is time to reestablish our own freedoms, our economy, and a balanced foreign policy going forward.  It is time to secure the border, fix our monetary policy, and recreate the American dream. It is time for Rand Paul.

A solid commander in chief uses the military in responsible ways . None of the other Republican candidates have proven that they will be good custodians of our military. In fact, they are dangling more  war  as a platform, and will trade more American deaths for special interest consideration and political donations.

So, give to Rand instead. Together we can re-establish traditional values of liberty and freedom under the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Together, we can recreate a sound economy. Together, we can ensure that the next presidential administration  and cabinet have the talent, intellectual capacity, and diplomacy to fix  the Middle east. A quagmire that was created under Bush, Obama and Hillary  Clinton.

My dad and the 1st Combat Evaluation Group in Vietnam

My dad was the operations officer at the  USAF radar site in Hawthorne , Nevada. The radar detachment was part of the 1st Combat Evaluation group  and the Strategic Air Command. Nevada in those days was littered with low level and high altitude bomb runs, and bomb plots. The radar unit would score  B-52s and SAC aircraft for target accuracy, via winds, vectors, altitude, and radar. In those days, save the addition of radar, and inertial navigation, the B-52 still used bombing techniques developed during WWII. An aircraft would use traditional navigation techniques with maps, course heading, speed, and winds, backed up by inertial navigation data . aircraft radar and ground radar. The bomb release would be from high altitude and would then be no different than the pattern bombing techniques of a B-17 cell. Instead of a small  B-17 useful bomb load of between 4,000 and 8,000 pounds, the B-52D would rain down 88,000 pounds of hell from the skies.

My father would train 1st Combat evaluation crews that directed B-52 strikes along the perimeter of Khe Sanh.  In 1966, he would spend 6 months in a heavily “Agent Orange” contaminated jungle west of Dalat South Vietnam directing fighter and bomber support during “Rolling Thunder!”

The United states military lost hundreds of planes and aircrews over Vietnam. While US aviators were in separate branches of service in the skies of Vietnam, when they were shot down, they became cell mates at the Hanoi Hilton.

From the Ardennes to Afghanistan, all of our  US aviators are heroes.

Rick Perry triples poll numbers in the last month

When Rick Perry exited the field in 2012, his poll numbers were quite low. The debate oops moment had a tremendous affect on his popularity.

At the beginning of 2015, some polls had Rick Perry below 1%.

The latest poll numbers for Rick Perry have basically tripled to 3%.

  • 1. Jeb Bush 15.8%
  • 2. Scott Walker 12.0%
  • 3. Marco Rubio 11.6%
  • 4. Ted Cruz 8.8%
  • 5. Rand Paul 8.6%
  • 6. Mike Huckabee 8%
  • 7. Ben Carson 6.8%
  • 8. Chris Christie 5.4%
  • 9. Rick Perry 3.0%
  • 10. Donald Trump 2.2%

I expect these poll numbers for Rick Perry to triple again after the first Republican debate. The first Republican debate will be harsh on Ben Carson. Voters will realize that he is completely out of his depth and has zero substance beyond standardized  entry level political gibberish.

The three senators, save Rand Paul. will also have a hard time. Ted Cruz has opened himself up to negative criticism, given his lackadaisical voting record in the Senate. I mean, if a Senator cannot even show up to vote, how does he deserve to run the country?  Marco Rubio, is also an inexperienced senator with limited private sector experience and zero executive experience.  Rubio can be labeled as an Obama style 1/2 term senator.  Rand Paul will gain  and maintain all of the poll numbers his father sustained in 2008 and 2012. This could range from 11% to 15%. His strategy for attracting seniors is yet to be identified.

Mike Huckabee is a master at communication and I expect he will eclipse Jeb Bush on the national stage. Huckabee will have a fund raising disadvantage. Jeb Bush will seek to roll over other candidates with his special interest donor list money. The same donor list his brother and father cultivated over decades.

With a solid showing void of references to torture and rectal feeding, I expect Rick Perry to rise to 10% poll numbers. As governor of Texas and an Air Force veteran, he has a better resume than any of the current top 10 Republican candidates. He will have the opportunity to really show his stuff and posture himself comfortably between Jeb Bush and Rand Paul. His key to further success is stealing Rand Paul’s libertarian credentials and then offering a balanced approach to foreign policy.  Rick Perry owns the immigration and border security issue. He learned much in 2012, His support of the Texas dream act while not too soft, can compete with Jeb Bush and his wholesale VIVA Jeb illegal immigrant ass kissing persona. When we add economic issues to the mix, with a good showing, Rick Perry will enhance his public relation numbers considerably.

Jeb Bush cannot run on an economic record. As governor of Florida, his economic success is  tied at the hip with George Bush. In fact, Florida’s economy and housing market was among the worst in the country when Jeb Bush left office. So, not only is Jeb Bush hobbled on economic issues, his foreign relations credibility is next to zero.  None of these issues plague Rick Perry. Rick Perry’s only weakness is his hostile views of Obamacare and how Texas rejected medicaid assistance and Obamacare insurance exchanges.

Iraqi Muslims do not deserve the blood of American patriots

Some time during 2003, I performed a medivac out of Baghdad  as a C-141C Flight Engineer.  Over 18 months, I would perform dozens.  At the beginning of the war, all air traffic from Ramstein Air Base would  be routed down the Arabian peninsula and then  make a turn at Jeda for Kuwait international VOR.  Then we would turn north again and fly to Baghdad international. Depending on winds, it was 9 hours down and 7 hours back. Air evac  and preflight duties could be as long as 3 hours  before leaving Ramstein. Once on the ground in Baghdad, it could take 4 hours to load wounded, especially while under rocket and mortar attach. So, a normal air crew duty day was about 23 hours. When we took off from Iraq, the entire fuselage was always full of wounded. Our greatest anxiety as aircrew  and med-crew members, was losing a patient on one of our missions. Our second greatest fear was being hit by anti aircraft rockets on approach and departure.

Our Medivac technicians were the most dedicated and selfless  human beings I was ever associated with.

During Desert Storm, Iraqi soldiers gave up in brigade strength. During the second Invasion of Iraq or “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” The Iraqi soldiers again  abandoned their posts and surrendered in brigade strength. When ISIS came in with only 3,000 militants, Shiite soldiers ran from their posts and left copious American military hardware. Just a few days ago, Shiite troops ran from Ramadi and left more American military hardware. Military hardware that can now be used to kill American soldiers. We spent utter billions in Iraq. The banks were filled with American money. The Iraqi bases  that ISIS over ran, filled with American military equipment. Equipment that could outfit an entire army. The cost will eventually cost the American tax payer over $6 trillion. The VA budget grew from $50 billion in 1999 to $178 billion a year today. There is a VA claim  back log of one million.  There is no end in sight. Now, Rick Perry wants to add another trillion to the bill and ship it to our children. In 2012, he said “don’t spend all the money!”  Now he has changed his mind.

Rick Perry’s position of boots on the ground in Iraq seems to be totally misguided.. The Iraq soldier has proven time and time again that they will run from a fight. Why then should we commit the blood of our children to their civil war. Why should we send our sons and daughters to Iraq a third time and spend their blood for the freedom of peoples that will not stand and fight for their own families?

Did our gallant marines go door to door in Fallujah and spill blood just so Iraqi soldiers could give back all the gains made at the drop of a hat. Is that not an insult? Fool me a third time well damn……

As an airman, we are considered boyscouts with Baretta 9mm.  We are not the heroic tough guys.  We are highly trained , dedicated and operate million dollar machines. Instead of boots on the ground, we have 150,000 pounds of fuel sitting behind us. One simple mistake and we become BBQ.

When I was performing Air evacs, I garnered more respect for the boys and girls that served in uniform and less for the idiots that run the country. I grew up on a Navy base that had a contingent of every service. I went to school with the kids or Navy, Air Force, Army and Marines.  My father served in Vietnam and Agent Orange shortened his life by 20 years. We always support the troops if not the mission.  I learned that at Hawthorne Naval Ammunition Depot  when I was 12 years old during Vietnam.

The Muslims in Iraq have proven that they do not deserve the blood of American patriots. Why on earth would we send more men and women to die in Iraq when Iraqis refuse to fight for their own freedoms. Where does it say that Americans are responsible for the domestic  and religious relations of a Muslim country? How are you able to construct an argument that supports more intervention in Iraq? Why are we supposed to intervene in a Sunni Shiite war? Whose side are we on?  Logic dictates that we simply seal off Iraq from weapon logistics and let the population kill each other off.  It wont be long until they will want to quit fighting and come to terms.  It is not in our national interest to take sides in 7th century Muslim idiocy. We would always be the bad guy. As it is, Muslims are now taking us as fools from Benghazi to Syria and Iraq.

Iraq was an oil war. The idea that we fought for Iraqi freedom was smoke and mirrors.

Sorry if I am not a tough guy… Sorry that I preferred saving lives than taking them. Sorry if I feel that diplomacy is more important than the application of blood and guns.  Sorry If I feel that Muslims 10,000 miles away do not deserve the final measure of our gallant troops.   In the Strategic Air Command, our motto was  “Peace is our Profession!” Our so-called conservative leaders have changed that motto to “Perpetual war is our profession!” The US is now using the American troop in nation building and regime change. Our entire foreign policy has been bastardized so special interest can make money. It happens in every war. But now, Republicans have turned it into strictly a money making proposition for their political benefactors. It is quite embarrassing to see politicians jumping through hoops for special interest like a monkey on the streets of Bangkok.

Imagine if we had spent the money we spent in Iraq here in America, on planes, infrastructure, medical equipment, and education. Where would we be?

Perpetual war is not a conservative position. It is a neocon construct that has been fed to the public. The money we spent in Iraq could have paid for a new Air Force aviation fleet  in it’s entirety hundreds of times over. The opportunity cost 15 times that. If the stimulus did not work, then show me the Iraqi freedom return on investment? Show me the return on investment in Iraq that our patriots paid for with their final measure?

My lineage served at Valley Forge with Washington’s last 2500. They endured terrible hardships and gave themselves selflessly for the cause of freedom. The troops that threw themselves at the stone wall at Fredericksburg to end slavery ,deserved our support.  The Seaman who fought at Midway  against Japanese tyranny, deserve our respect. The airman flying B-17s  and dropping bombs on NAZIs over Europe deserve  our gratitude. The Marines that stormed the streets of Fallujah in the name of Iraqi freedom, our  greatest reverence. As far as the Iraqi soldier, they don’t deserve another tiny drop of blood from any American patriot.

John Kerry, the Winter soldier, should be saying: ” who wants to be the last soldier to give his or her life for Muslim extremists in a civil war in the deserts of  Iraq!”

NeoCons fixating on ISIS and avoiding America’s domestic issues.

Of all the candidates in the field for 2016, Rick Perry has the most well rounded resume. He can go toe to toe with  any other candidate on economy, border security, deregulation, energy growth, State’s rights and a plethora of other issues.

Rick Perry owns the border issue in 2016 like Duncan Hunter owned it in 2008. George Bush turned a blind eye to the border fence until he was forced to act on it. In 2012 Rick Perry set up up a balance between border security and the dream act.  This is a winning hand.

Most of my friends are between 30 and 40 years old. Most if not all have had enough of the Bush era of torture, perpetual war and NSA surveillance. Rick Perry has to strike a balance between isolating ISIS and application of military power. He does not have to talk about this right now. Let Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush and Scott Walker burn that bridge.

My administration  and my group of foreign relations specialist will address the foreign policy  issues of the day with a new perspective and a focus on protecting Americans. .

One week, Rick Perry is talking about decriminalizing marijuana which is supported by 90% of people under 40 and 53% of the state of Washington.  In Colorado, relaxed marijuana laws have led to a housing and economic boom for the short term.

The next week, Rick Perry is talking about how to secure the border and reducing prison populations.

All these things will resonate with individuals below 40 years old.

Then Rick Perry goes off and starts elaborating on water boarding, rectal feeding and another trillion war in Iraq? WTF? These positions immediately turn the below 40 something crowd off. In addition, it is clear that folks in New Hampshire and Iowa are rejecting the Bush era.

Rick Perry must stay on message. A message of economic growth, deregulation, energy independence, and retooling a 60 year old federal aviation and DOD air fleet. The arsenal of democracy is getting old and shop warn. Our soldiers have been deployed up to a dozen times in 10 years. Our VA budget has exploded from $40 billion in 1999 to over $178 billion in 2016. There is a million backlog of VA claims and the Iraq war will end up costing $6 to $10 trillion over the next 50 years.

Americans want a vison of renewal and a vision of recapturing the american spirit here at home. We do not want to talk about torture that violates the Geneva convention. We do not want to talk about rectal feeding, a third war in Iraq, or the NSA harvesting all of our electronic behavior.

So Rick, buddy, for the good of your campaign stay on your strong suit and forget the terror rhetoric until you are forced to talk about it during the debates. I mean, nobody wants to hear a piano playing while someone gets  a tube stuck up their ass.  I will give you one more chance….

Rick Perry has the opportunity to situate himself to the right of Rand Paul on libertarian issues and social issues. The strong suit is the economy stupid, border security, an energy renaissance, resting our troops, retooling our nations aviation fleet, decriminalization of weed, reducing prison populations for non violent offenders, addressing 3 strike laws, and managing the Sunni Shiite civil war in a responsible manner.

Rick Perry does not have to compete with the Neocon ass kissers at this point….  And dam sure does not have to talk about anything that violates the Geneva convention. Get a grip for the love of Pete. I dont think your college student  foreign relations adviser is giving you value adding information.  Make some adjustments.

Lastly, you need to come up with a health care plan that either refines or replaces the affordable care act at the federal level. There is a vast voter pool of people that currently like free healthcare and will vote for Hillary to maintain that free bee.  As it is, those that make a livable wage get jacked, and those that pay zero taxes get free health care. Somewhere in the middle is a solution…. A kinder gentler approach is in order.

Either way, I am heading to Laconia bike week in New Hampshire. You can make some adjustments and I will carry your banner or you can continue the course that competes with Lindsey Graham style idiots and I will jump on Rand Paul’s campaign. Then again, nobody cares about me. That is until I spend $500 on FB campaigns in New Hampshire like i did against Jeb Bush that started all the ruckuss on Iraq. It is called thought leadership.

Rick Perry needs a campaign manager that filters his gibberish

Of all the candidates in the field for 2016, Rick Perry has the most well rounded resume. He can go toe to toe with  any other candidate on economy, border security, deregulation, energy growth, State’s rights and a plethora of other issues.

While Rand Paul was Filibustering the so-called Patriot Act, Rick Perry was expanding on rectal feeding, water boarding and bulk surveillance in Iowa?

I pulled for Rick Perry in 2012. I tried supporting him in 2016. It is clear that Rick Perry is campaigning as an alternative to jeb Bush. He is basically a hybrid of Dick Cheney, George Bush, and Lindsey Graham. he basically supports the same stale positions that George Bush maintained. Rick Perry does not believe in the 4th Amendment or our right to privacy. He does not believes that soldiers have rights under the Geneva convention. He believes that American soldiers must invade Iraq a third time.

Rick Perry is basically regurgitating the same republican scare tactics that has plagued the republican party since 1991 and Desert Storm. Except for border security, Rick Perry is a Bush/Cheney wannabe.

So, while Rand Paul was filibustering the so-called Patriot Act, Rick Perry was in Iowa expanding on water boarding, rectal feeding ,and bulk surveillance of the American people. Screw that..

Americans want a renewed vision for America void of scare tactics and a president that fixates on torture and reliving the Bush era.  It is time to “Stand with Rand!”
